POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a full-time role on the Ministry Team. For this role, you’ll need to live in or near Columbus, OH, and be willing to work in the offices at X Church. Typical hours for this role are 9am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 7am-1pm Sunday, and on occasion, there is a need to work additional hours on evenings and weekends during special events throughout the year.

MISSION

The Outreach Director exists to help people get on the path to God by equipping our church to be the hands and feet of Jesus to not only go out and serve the community, but also invite the community in to what God is doing here at X Church. The director creates strategies and opportunities that allow people to be used by God and make an impact on our city, nation, and world in big, tangible ways.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Outreach Director will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Leads the vision of Outreach here at X Church, spanning monthly and recurrent programs (Stowe Mission, blood drives, etc.) along with annual initiatives like XO Week and Holiday Outreach. Imagines and pioneers initiatives that will have the widest and most profound impact on both our community and our church.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Builds and leads a strong team of staff and volunteers who embody the heart of Outreach. Casts vision, provides clear communication, and fosters a culture of unity, ownership, and passion. Develops leaders through regular check-ins, clear expectations, and coaching, ensuring the culture is healthy, encouraging, and rooted in Christ.
  • Oversees and Manages Outreach Partnership: This role would cultivate and manage ongoing relationships with our Outreach partners, extracting stories for our church to tell, ensuring relationships and clarity are healthy, and keeping a critical eye on where our most effective outreach resources should go.
  • Oversees and Project Manages Outreach Events: Collaborates across departments to manage and execute Outreach Events such as Trunk or Treat, MeggaHunt, School Convocations, Blood Drives, etc.
  • Tells the Story of outreach in our church. Regularly extracts stories from outreach events, weeks, and partnerships, collaborating with Creative, to tell the story of Outreach in our church in consistent, meaningful ways to keep in front of people the special movement they’re a part of and the difference they’re making.
  • Recruits the Church to consistently be part of outreach here, in both big and small ways.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in volunteer or vocational ministry and leadership
Physical: Ability to move around a large campus, assist with event setup/teardown, and lift materials or supplies up to 30 lbs.
